Heber-Overgaard DO: Governing Board

The Heber-Overgaard Unified School's Governing Board consists of five elected community members. These dedicated individuals volunteer their time and talents to help our administrators and staff deliver the best possible educational programs and strategies to our community's students. This includes helping district administrators set policy, hire and retain quality staff, and encourage parent involvement.

Cindy Lofstedt Board President Phone: (928) 535-3584 Term through: Dec. 31, 2012	As a full-time resident of Overgaard for 5 years, Cindi Lofstedt and her family have been weekending in the community for many years. She has four children and five grandchildren. Mrs. Lofstedt retired from the Phoenix Union High School District in 2002 and has been involved in education for over 35 years first as a teacher and then in Administration. She is also actively involved in community charities and is on the Advisory Board of the Big Brothers/Big Sisters organization. Mrs. Lofstedt is committed to helping our youth attain a well-rounded education and is proud to serve on the Heber-Overgaard Unified School District Board.

Craig Blackburn Board Vice President Phone: (928)-535-3758 Term through: Dec. 31, 2010	Craig Blackburn has lived in the Heber/Overgaard area for 9 years. He is currently employed at Navopache Electric Cooperative, Inc., and has been for the last 14 years. He is the Area Representative for the Overgaard Branch office. Craig and his family have made their home here in Heber/Overgaard area. In the spring, Craig works with the Pee-Wee wrestling program. In the winter time, he enjoys spending his time as a coach for the Mogollon Varsity Wrestling team. He is also a member of the 4th of July Fireworks committee. Craig is honored to represent the residents of the Heber/Overgaard area as a School Board Member. He is committed to seeing that the best interest of the students and their education is first priority.

Scott Dowdy Board Member Term through: Dec. 31, 2012	Scott Dowdy has been a full-time resident of Heber/Overgaard for the past 10 years. He believes that healthy families are the foundation for healthy communities. Serving on the school board is just one way he can help families in this community. Scott is honored to be able to serve the residents of Heber/Overgaard as a school board member.

Lorin (Lon) Porter Board Member Phone: (928)-535-4811 Term through: Dec 31, 2010	Mr. Porter has lived most of his life in the communities of Heber and Snowflake. Serving on the school board allows him to help shape our community and be a careful steward over taxes from the citizens of our community. He feels, as a parent, that he should be actively involved in ensuring his children receive a first rate education. Mr. Porter has nine children who have graduated from Mogollon High School and three others in the system. Two have taught in the H-O School District, and 16 of his 19 grandchildren live in the district.

Naoma N. Owens Board Member Phone: (928) 535-6106 Term through: Dec. 31, 2012	Naoma Owens has lived in Overgaard for over 56 years. She is a retired postmaster with two grandchildren and three great grandchildren in the district. Mrs. Owens is most quite proud of the accomplishments our district has achieved but is even more proud of our teachers and what they do to see that our children get the best education possible. As a Board Member she is proud to be a part of helping our children receive the education they each deserve.

Governing Board Meetings for the Heber-Overgaard Unified School District are held the second Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. Special meetings can also be called. Meetings are held at the High School Library. If you would like to address the Board you need to make this request prior to the Board Meeting using the Request Form.
